About

About

Amy Rodriguez, LCSW

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to learn more about my practice. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with almost 15 years of experience serving my community. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and psychodynamic psychotherapy with a primary focus on adolescents and adults. Prior to private practice, I not only provided individual counseling, but also worked within community and psychiatric centers. I am very passionate about mental health and I am deeply committed to supporting the well-being of my clients.

I grew up in the Houston area and I first earned a Bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a Master's degree from the University of Houston (Go Coogs!). When I'm not in the office, I am at sporting events, traveling, or spending time with family and friends.

Services
Adults
New Hires

Adults face many struggles ranging from work stress, relationship issues, financial stressors, parenting challenges to simply finding work/life balance. With all that life demands, it is no surprise that adults can become overwhelmed, stressed, and develop anxiety and/or depression. Therapy provides the tools for adults to develop coping skills for depression and anxiety, manage stress, learn effective communication skills, and establish healthy boundaries to enhance their interpersonal skills and mental health.

Adolescents
Teenagers

Adolescence is one of the most challenging transitional periods. Adolescents face a number of struggles ranging from academic pressures, discovering identity, social anxiety, changes in mood, body image, relationships to wanting to feel accepted. It is common for teenagers to feel overwhelmed with these stressors. Therapy helps teenagers learn to express themselves, manage their emotions, accept themselves, and learn healthy coping skills to feel well balanced as they transition to adulthood.

Teletherapy
Online meeting

Teletherapy has become a very convenient way of obtaining mental health services. Access to therapy in the privacy of your own home or during a lunch break can make a difference in clients with demanding schedules.
